3/20/2003:
A wind from the East flowed across the Tucson Valley, bringing the sweet smell
of Orange blossoms to the air. This must be the first day of spring I thought,
as I headed west with the wind at my back. I thought about the wind, how it is
always in motion across the world. Tomorrow this Tucson wind will flow through
California Valleys, across the Pacific Ocean, a week from now the streets of Tokyo.
The wind, which is here in Tucson on the first day of spring, will travel across
the earth in 30 days. Always in motion, the wind never stops, it just moves on.
The wind has
a job to do, it carries away the negative energy people hold within their lives.
Lately the wind has had a lot of work to do. There is so much pain, suffering,
anger and hatred in the world, but the wind will not give up, it has a job to
do.
On this Vernal Equinox I gather with friends around a circle of prayer and offerings.
I make an offering to the wind, to help it sweep across the globe. Take the pain
from the people of earth and open their hearts to all the love in the world, I
ask. An open heart will not store pain anger fear hatred or sorrow. An open heart
will only contain the energy of love and light. I offer a broken feather and the
wing of a butterfly, they have worked with the wind before, they will work with
the wind again.
When you feel the wind come in from the East bringing smells of delight and wonder,
think about the wind and what we all have to do. When the wind surrounds you in
life, float on the wind. Open your heart to the world, releasing any negative
energies stored within, the wind will sweep them away.
Float on the wind with an open heart it is the first
day of spring!
